As per Xmas tradition in the Roy family household, Red Simpson’s trucker anthem gets serious playtime every December. What makes this song truly great is that instead of focusing on the ol’ traditional yuletide mainstays like Santa Claus, Rudolph, Elf on the Shelf etc, this song pays homage to the unsung blue collar Christmas hero: the trucker. Our protagonist is but a simple man who likes to sing “Jingle Bells” as he travels from house to house delivering Christmas trees from his humble truck. What a mensch!

When the Nancy Langhorne foundation came to the band asking for a holiday tune to be included on their “Xmas in VA” record to raise money for cancer research, the band knew what must be done. They hopped in their truck and drove down to Virginia Beach to start recording, just as Red Simpson would have wanted. This ones for you, Red!
